Mr
Winkle.
Ed the Sock. Toonces
the Cat. Triumph
the Insult Comic Dog
These Celebrity Critters are among some of the
most well known public figures in North American
society today.
Sometimes
we learn from them, sometimes we're horrified
at their outbursts.
Other times we laugh at them
-- either relating to them, or with a sense
of mortification.
No matter what we feel about each of these critters,
they all serve an important purpose.
They make us smile ; )

Rock-em Sock-em
Two of North American TV's most famous cigar
chomping anti-heroes aren't exactly what
some would call friends... As Ed the Sock
succinctly puts it: "I'd like to see
Triumph or the Pets.com guy handle a live
broadcast during the Woodstock
riots, never mind handling several hours
of live TV every week."
Ed splits duties between his half-hour weekly
talk-show and VJ duties on MuchMusic. Unlike
the now defunct Pets.com Sock Puppet, Ed
will not be filing a lawsuit: "I don't
worry about Triumph, because Triumph
is a one-note joke."
Triumph the Insult Comic Dog frequently
makes appearances on Late Night with Conan
O'Brien and would probably have this to
say about Ed: "Ed the Sock's great...
for me to POOP on!"
Coincidentally, Triumph appeared on NBC
shortly after Ed the Sock was submitted
to and rejected by the Conan O'Brien show.

him with the world," said owner
