"An
original and powerful sound that takes your
mind to other worlds" -- HotBands.com
Orchards & Vines have been discovered
by over 300,000
fans from more than 90 countries around
the world, sold out 2 pressings of their
debut CD, and
topped numerous internet and Canadian college
radio charts.
O&V's stratospheric rock sound is a
unique mix of soaring female vocals, powerful
walls of guitar and haunting cello. About.com
calls it "the perfect cohabitation of psychedelia
and pop... Cindy Tomlinson's euphoric harmonies
are that of a siren's call."
They were the first Canadian band featured
by Napster's New Artist spotlight, and have
also been featured on popular sites including
MP3.com (Editor's Pick, #1 Rock song, sitewide
Top 40), Audiogalaxy (over 18 months in
Rock/ Alternative Top 5, peaking at #2),
HMV, Garageband, JAM! Canoe, Besonic, Vitaminic
UK and About.com's Alternative Music Guide.
Audiogalaxy raves: "The band's musical structure
comes to life with streaming, fuzzed chord
riffs, meandering basslines, crashing cymbals,
and the refined use of a classic cello sound...
The songs possess an integrity that would
seem to withstand time and exhibit proficiency
toward composure that immediately sets the
band apart from the rest." Amazon.com: "Stunningly
original. The music is haunting, dense,
evocative and emotional. Highly recommended."
O&V's website www.ovweb.com
was recently awarded PromoFACT funding by
Canada's MuchMusic video station, and a
German language website has also been launched.
The band is currently preparing new material
for their first worldwide release.
